Humility is Teachability in Disguise!

Humility is Teachabilty in disguise!! we learned about this in three different places in the bible tonight. 2nd Samuel chapter one verse 17- 27  where we learn about David lementing about a man who tried to kill him and how he held no hard feelings against him and also his frind who was like his brother who he wrote this song about and included them as equals in this song.

Than we discussed 2nd Corinthians (Las Vegas ) of its time and how Paul raised with a silver spoon in his mouth who to get ahead became a Christian bounty hunter a hunter of Christians this held a high position with the Romans later he was saved and turned to Jesus through a conversion experience. Later we find him hear preaching to the Corinthians suggesting that they be humble enough to send money to help these people that the Corinthians found them selves to be so much  better than. He was on his knees begging them to show how much they have changed by helping these other Christians out.

Then we go to the Gospel lesson where we find Jesus put through a triple wammy of an experience.

First he is asked by a guy to help his daughter who is an sick and the guy is one of Jesus adversaries. Jesus agrees to help her anyway. Than Jesus is walking through the crowd and he is touched by someone and gets this person healed and the power is zapped out of him. Jesus says “Who Touched me” Kind of a human reaction showing his humanity I am learning more and more about Jesus understanding of our humanity. finally Jesus goes to help this girl and it starts why bother sending her there they say to her the girl’s father. She is dead. Then Jesus says to this “Do not be afraid” then The Pharisees change there story and say why all the big deal the child is not dead  just sleeping. He says to her Talitha Koum! Which means “Little Girl I say to you get up”Immediately the girl stood up and walked around. Jesus gave strict orders that this story not be told and that she should be given something to eat.
