Bible Study on Palm Sunday

by on April 2, 2012

First we covered Isaiah 50:4- 9a. We talked about the fact that he was describing a Messiah and not the one the Jewish people were expecting. He describes a weary humble  servant. Talks about being beaten and turning the other cheek. He talks about being spit upon. He will not be put to shame and he will have a face like a flint. Cutting through much of the machismo of many men buy being the God we now know Jesus to be.

Than we read in Mark about the way that Palm Sunday was sort of  an uneventful event. He was fulfilling Prophecies but did not have much more to do than this.

Than we read in Philippians I chapter 2  vs 1-11 How Paul spoke about being unselfish humble and loving affectionate and sympathetic. This was not Paul’s be a man speech this was Paul saying to live Christ like not macho. The people must have thought him strange but so did most people think that of Jesus at the time.
